Fourth of July Plans!

With Fourth of July around the corner I am curious to see what everyones plans are! Not to mention was decor ideas your doing!

My husband and I don't really have big plans, sad I know! The third we are going to our church's cook out! Josh wants to make cream tacos and since I really don't know how to make them its going be all up to him. Which means if it goes terribly wrong totally not my fault. ;) Not to mention we really aren't going to be doing a lot of decor. I wish we could I absolutely love the United States of America. I'm really glad that our neighbor flies the American flag in his yard! Pretty sure we'll be getting a flag holder thing.

Oh wait! I think we're also going out to the in laws on Saturday... And on the actual July Fourth, as far as I know we are stayin home!

So what are ya'll doing? Going out of town? Any special traditions or places you go every year to watch the fireworks? Post or send it picts!

12days and Coffee with Corrin

That we have been absent!

Ugh, guys I am so sorry I have been slacking! It's been pretty durn bad. I can tell you though that we officially have a home phone! SO! Soon will be internet! Which means I will be so much better at this!

I'll be honest and tell ya'll that I have been pretty busy and not able to come to town to use the internet a lot. My garden is doing great though! My dogs are still buttheads and the house is still intact! yay!

Now to deals and coupons!

I have been informed that AtoZ has Miracle Grow (in the box) for a dollar a box. I will be stockpiling! Honestly, sometimes AtoZ can get you better deals than the couponing, but you also have to take gas into consideration. With gas going down(Thank God) it's not such a bad drive.

So I ran into an older couple last night at Neighborhood Market who really got me thinking. The wife kept staring at me and my coupon notebook bag that was left in the cart, she saw me pull out a coupon for the UP2U gum and asked if I was just getting started. Now because I had bought a few off brand and fresh food items that was the only coupon I used. I kindly replied no, I've been doing this for a while. She brought up the Extreme Couponers Show. Now I have not seen this in maybe a month! Let me tell you I kinda miss it, but I also kinda don't. Some of the people on there make me mad.

Just because we are saving money(sometimes TONS) does not mean we have to be rude or ridiculous. We don't have to be rude to the cashiers, we just have to be prepared for bumps in the road. Here's a great way to do that:

1. Make sure you have a copy of the store coupon policy
2. Have a copy or two of the store coupon policy(to possibly give the cashier)
3. Have a smile and ask how the cashier is, for goodness sakes, while they are scanning everything(especially if you have a bunch of stuff), start small talk. They like that. They will be much more happy to assist you with your check out.
4. Not everything is the cashiers fault, so be patient while they get help or fix what ever problem has happened.

Now to stockpiling:

1. Unless you use mustard at EVERY MEAL EVERYDAY, then yes 100+ bottles is probably needed. But if not, then those 100+ are a bit over the top.
2. Please donate. There are so many families out there struggling it's not funny. That's why most of us turn to couponing. Donate to a homeless shelter, or a women's shelter, or a food bank. (I'll do another post on this soon.)
3. Don't be obsessive. Just because you don't use that extra bathroom all the time, doesn't mean it needs to help with an over amount of stockpiling. Toilet paper goes under the sink, not in the shower stall.

I know this seems like I'm being mean, but please trust me, I do this out of love. Couponers are getting bad names these day and we need to prove we are good people. Yes it's addictive, but no matter the addiction, it ends up hurting someone.
